Description
A summer goddess lifting a shield that mirrors the field — within the translucent disc, as in a still pool, the meadow's poppies and cornflowers bloom again. A red-haired woman with windswept hair stands wide-stanced in a wheatfield; she wears a lavender-blue corset and long, ruched silken trousers whose folds fall in vertical sculpted lines. In her raised hands she holds a large translucent disc — a shield reflecting the field above her head. Around her, in the tall wheat, red poppies and blue cornflowers burn.
