Description
Lethe — the river of forgetting as a silver marsh; two figures on its banks, blue ribbons rising toward the moon like threads of memory that still hold. On the left a woman with her back to the viewer, in a red-and-gold rococo gown with a train, holds a slim wand from which a blue ribbon winds upward. On the right her twin, in an identical gown, faces the viewer; her ribbon loops around a blue-grey moon with a smaller shadow-moon beside it. Between them lie strips of dry russet grass and silver mirrors of standing water.
