Description
Ariadne's thread abandoned on a silver rippling sea, a woman in a red dress as the signal of the starting point, the red like a breath of rescue. At the top of the vertical canvas a bright arched niche holds a woman in a long red gown; from her, downward, a thin red thread winds across the silver undulating water and vanishes at the lower edge of the picture.
