Description
The Giverny bridge in a night version, a woman in a painting she does not inhabit, an homage to Monet told by another era's hand. On a red Japanese arched footbridge thrown across Monet's broad pond stands a woman in a long dark-red dress and gazes at herself; below stretches a densely painted surface of water lilies with pink blooms; on either side dense willow green, above the scene a thin crescent moon.
