Description
Friedrich doubled, two women in place of a lone wanderer, a ghost ship hanging like a prayer over the horizon. On either side of the canvas stand mirrored silhouettes of women in long white dresses with red sashes; between them a dark sea, a beach of small stones and shells; above mid-sky a small white sailing ship drifts.
