Description
A second take on Gizelle — a larger cage, the girl quieter, the colours softer, freedom still behind the bars. In a green-olive space hovers a large black cage set on a horizontal wooden perch; inside sits a dark-skinned slender woman in a black leotard, with one leg dangling over the bars; her long brown hair falls on her shoulders, eyes lowered. From the cage spread undulating parrot-like feathers — orange, green, violet and yellow-tigered — slipping out somewhere between the rods.
