Description
An orange-seller after Gierymski, not Vermeer — a vendor in town, two baskets of fruit like two skies, hair the colour of what she sells. Against grey rooftop clusters of a city stands a woman with a fiery, dense hairstyle in a long dark-red gown with lace sleeves; her hands are hidden behind two wicker baskets full of juicy oranges; a pearl necklace at her neck, an ornate wrought-iron gate behind.
