Description
A visit to Kalf in nocturne tones, a blue still life like a kitchen aquarium, a woman as hostess of two worlds. In a dark-blue Dutch interior stands, back to the viewer, a nude blue-skinned woman pouring wine into a tall carafe; before her a baroque table setting — glass goblets, a silver basket with grapes, a bowl of fruit and draped blue cloth; the picture has an ornate silver-champagne frame.
