Description
An owl-lighthouse-keeper with a lantern in which a lantern-beetle glows, the irony of office, a guardian of darkness with fire in her fist. A figure with the body of a woman in a rich violet-and-gold Renaissance gown with a lace ruff and the head of an eagle owl holds in her right hand a small turquoise cage-lantern in which an imprisoned beetle glows — and that beetle is a ray of light; the background dark, a thin crescent moon cut in the upper right corner.
