Description
A red room and a mirror as a double stage, the woman as director of her own evening, the cigarette as a drop of reflection between two images of herself. In a crimson interior, between a yellow curtain and the gilded frame of a mirror-window, a woman sits sideways on a wooden ledge in a translucent ochre polka-dot skirt and a pale gold top; head tilted up, black hair, a long cigarette-holder with a white cigarette at her lips. Beside her a pitcher of red wine, a stemmed glass and a bowl of black grapes; in the mirror her second reflection, in shadow, in a bluish parallel reality.
