Description
Caspar David Friedrich in three incarnations, two figures in white gazing at a burning sky, the boat as a spiritual of prayer. From the bow of a pale wooden sailboat two hooded white silhouettes — likely a woman and a child — face an orange-red, dramatically lit horizon; on the right a taut white sail, in the distance the slender masts of other boats.
