Description
An ashen penitent laid on the altar of dusk — the body like set metal, the sky ablaze with contrition. A silver-blue nude figure lies limply on a stacked plinth of blue and red blocks, head resting on one hand, eyes closed, a golden mark on the face. Behind it opens a tall archway revealing an incandescent orange-red sky of billowing cloud. The lower painting sinks into darkness.
